Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to your hotel for check in. Today, we will offer you a Cambodia map, and go through your itinerary for the next 8 days. We will also help you to exchange to local currency if needed. The rest of your time is free on your leisure.
We will visit the main sights including Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Friendship Monument, Independence Monument, National Museum and Wat Phnom. After lunch, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the site is a former high school which was used as a prison by the communist Khmer Rouge. Next, visit the Killing Fields where large numbers of people were killed & buried by the communist Khmer Rouge.
Day 03
Phnom Penh – Skun Market – Wat Norkor – Kratie (B)
Transfer to Kratie. First, we will drive to Kampong Cham and stop at Skun Market where you can try fried turantulas then stop for visiting Wat Nokhor Bachey temple, then continue our journey to Kratie, a province located on the Mekong River Bank. Then we take a local ferry crossing the Mekong River to Koh Trong Island to check in your hotel. Overnight in Kratie on Koh Trong Island.
Day 04
Kratie – Kampi River, Irrawaddy Dolphins – 100 Column Pagoda (B)
We will take a local ferry back to the charming little town of Kratie. Kratie is quite well-preserved and still has some good examples of shop house architecture as well as some old Khmer wooden houses but is mostly the best place in Cambodia to see the freshwater Irrawaddy dolphins, then continue to visit 100 Columns pagoda. Afternoon we will explore Koh Trong Island in a tuk tuk. Overnight in Kratie on Koh Trong Island.
Day 05
Kratie – Sambo Preikuk Temples – Kampong Thom (B)
We will drive to Kampong Thom Province. A 4 hours ride by our private car through the beautiful countryside and farm will take us to the central city. Afternoon, we will visit Sambor Prei Kuk. This is the setting of the most impressive group of pre-Angkorian monuments anywhere in Cambodia which date back from the 6-7 century. There are more than 100 small temples, scattered through the forest. Return to Kampong Thom.
Day 06
Kampong Thom – Siem Reap – Kampong Phluk Fishing Village, Tonle Sap Lake (B)
Transfer to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will visit Kampong Phluk, the fishermen’s village on Tonle Sap Lake, during the dry season (Feb to Aug), the village can be reached by car or motorbike but in Sep, we take a boat ride to Kompong Phluk where visit the village with its houses on stilts, the pagoda and see the activities of the villagers before taking a traditional boat will take us on the big Tonle Sap Lake. Return to the boat pier and drive to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 07
Siem Reap – Angkor Wat – Angkor Thom – Ta Prohm Temples (B)
Transfer to visit Angkor Thom including Elephant terrace, Leper King terrace, Baphuon, Royal enclosure, Phimeanakas and Bayon temple. Afterward, you will also visit Ta Prohm temple, one of the most beautiful temples in the area. After lunch, visit Angkor Wat where it is the largest & most impressive of all the temples and it is one of the 7 wonders of the world.
Day 08
Siem Reap – Big Tours – Banteay Srei Temple (B)
Pick up at 8:00 AM and then visit Banteay Srei Temple, the real Hindu temple built in the 10th century and it is considered to be the jewel of classical Khmer art. This temple is often a favorite among visitors. In the afternoon, visit the Banteay Samre and Pre Rup temple. Return to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 09
Siem Reap Departure (B)
You will have free time to relax at the hotel or explore more Siem Reap on your own until transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
